reported the following issue: 'Experience
Spanish' chapter 8 TAREAS OCHO question 15, práctica 2 'Los veranos
en la finca de los abuelos
problem near the end: “Después de
comer, (ayudar) a mi abuela en la huerta. Allí (crecer) tomates,
judías, cebollas, zanahorias y muchas otras verduras.”
It is
wrong to use ‘crecer’ here, if you mean to imply ‘mi abuela
crecía tomates...], etc., because ‘crecer’ is NOT a transitive
verb. You could replace this verb with ‘cultivar’ or ‘producir’.
If you mean to imply that the PLANTS were growing, then ‘crecer’
is correct, but your answer key ‘crecia’ is wrong, because there
were a LOT of vegetables growing. The correct answer is ‘crecían.’
